The park will be open to the public from noon until midnight on the 4th of July. On-stage entertainment begins at 3:00 pm and Children's Activities are from 1:00 pm-6:00pm. Food Vendor sales begin at noon. Fireworks at 10:00 pm.

Food Vendors

You can bring a picnic to enjoy with your family and friends during the daylong celebration or you can purchase a large array of food and drink from one of the many concessionaires that will be open to serve you from noon to midnight.

Due to safety precautions, NO charcoal barbecues will be allowed on the grounds.

Fire Truck Water Fun

The Yakima Fire Department will be back this year with a fire truck with platform and the spray nozzle at the fairgrounds for some GREAT water fun for the kids from noon till 6:00 pm. They will be situated in front of the grandstands.

Children's Activities

FREE hands-on activities will be available from 1:00 to 6:00 pm. next to Pioneer Hall. Kids of all ages can have their face painted.

Pacific Science Center will have two super cool science shows and a “Harvesting Science” exhibits from
1-6pm in the Children's Activities area.

Live Entertainment

Entertainment at this year's Fourth of July Celebration will run the gamut, including rock groups, ethnic dance, country singers, and patriotic bands. In addition to the great entertainment on the Main Stage, again this year the Family Stage will feature family-style performers that kids, parents and grandparents will enjoy. Join in the Karaoke fun on the KXDD Stage.

3:00 p.m. Los Bailadores del Sol (Mexican folk dancing)
4:15 p.m. Pacific Science Center's "Super Cool" liquid hydrogen show
5:15 p.m. New Northwest Broadcasters karaoke finals
6:00 p.m. The Village Musicians
7:15 p.m. Positive Life Radio presents Jeremy Riddle (contemporary Christian)
8:45 p.m. New Northwest Broadcasters presents Jamie Lee Thurston
9:50 p.m. Color guard and national anthem sung by 4th of July Idol

10:00 p.m. Fireworks display - tune in to 105.7 BOB FM at 10 pm to hear patriotic music set in sync with the fantastic fireworks display

Entertainment is scheduled for 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Highlights of the day will be the free performances of Jeremy Riddle and Jamie Lee Thurston!

Dirt Track Races

Join in the fun of the dirt track races from 12:00-3:00pm at the State Fair Raceway

Carnival

The carnival rides are a big attraction in the days leading up to the 4th of July and on the 4th as well. Here is this year's tentative schedule and pricing info:

Pricing for Carnival rides:

  • $20 Wristbands - Good for all rides during carnival operating hours on Friday and Sunday only (no wristbands on the 4th of July). The Sundola is not included as a carnival ride.
  • Individual ride tickets $1.25 each (Average 3 – 4 tickets required per ride)
  • Sheet of 20 tickets for $22
  • Family Special - 60 Tickets for $45 is good only on the day of the 4th
  • Please note: No wristband special on Saturday, July 4th

Sundola

The Fairgrounds Sundola will be running on the 4th of July. Costs to ride as follows:

One way $3.50
Round trip $4.00
Children under 42” tall $1.00

Fireworks

The highlight of the day's events will be a fantastic fireworks display by Western Display Fireworks at 10:00 pm. Watch the fireworks from the fairgrounds or nearby open areas. Tune your dial to 105.7 BOB FM for the special patriotic music that is set in sync to accompany the fireworks program.

As a courtesy to other patrons, we ask that all personal canopies and umbrellas be taken down at dusk to allow optimum viewing of the fireworks show.

Information Booths

A limited number of community information booths will be on site throughout the day.
